Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1991, Nayel competes internationally for Egypt. Raised in Kuwait by Egyptian parents, he first sat on a horse at a local riding school when he was five. His passion for equestrian sport continued to grow, until he won his first FEI Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi in 2011, aboard his stallion Vangelis S. Nayel went on to represent his country at the FEI World Cup Finals in 2013, 2014 and 2017 and the FEI World Equestrian Games in 2014, picking up several big Grand Prix victories along the way.

Most notably, Nayel is a three time winner of the HITS $1 Million Grand Prix, and is the only rider to ever win the Speed Challenge and 5* Grand Prix at the same Longines Masters event. Nayel attended Stanford University and graduated with a degree in Economics in 2013, and speaks multiple languages including English, Arabic and French.
